The Driftwood Singers

The Driftwood Singers are Kris Hutson and Pearl Charles, who have been crafting Carter Family-like country tunes since they were 19. Hastily, compulsively, they have continued to refine their sound and songwriting in the intervening two or three years. Trailer Fire welcomes to its catalog one result of those toils: the I Don't Live Here Anymore 7". The David Mayfield-produced songs -- title track (side A) and "If I Take That Notion" (side B) -- are familiar enough to grant access to The Driftwood Singers' own particular sonic habitat, where they explore genre and theme with a maturity belying their years.
