The conveyance of experience binds Edward Gorch’s songs. Experience in songwriting; experience in general. It’s in his strong yet quavering voice and his ambivalent arrangements and his wrenching lyrics. Born At Sea is Gorch’s fifth solo or collaborative release, named for a now-defunct trio he helmed for two years in Brooklyn. He still lives there.
